Shut down or suspend your computer from your smart home

While your computer is running, RemoteRelay can receive a shutdown action from a compatible integration. If you prefer sleep, configure and test that action according to your operating system and integration options.

What you need

  • A plan allowing shutdown or remote controls.
  • A connected agent with permissions for the system action.
  • Choose shutdown or sleep deliberately: they leave different power states.

Getting started

  1. Save your work and test the action locally on the computer.
  2. Check the ecosystem connection and execute the action from its app.
  3. For voice, use the discovered device name and verify the actual result.
  4. Test wake separately afterwards. Successful shutdown does not mean Wake-on-LAN is configured.

Compatibility and limits

The operating system and interactive session may affect the result. A powered-off computer cannot receive agent actions. Test sleep and graphical apps in the appropriate user-session context.
